The Flash Division is NWAL’s intermediate level of play and consists of players ranging from U11 to U18. Flash teams are considered a level 2 "travel team" competing against both rec (level 1) and competitive teams (level 3). The teams compete in tournaments throughout the region and may enter the Kohl’s American Cup for state-level competition in the Spring. In a given season, the average team will play 15 to 20 matches, for a full year up to 40 matches.
There are travel limitations in terms of distance and frequency. Typically teams will travel to Little Rock, Springfield, Tulsa (roughly 3 hours) and will limit hotel stays where possible.
Teams practice primarily at Sugar Creek Soccer park in Bentonville, but have autonomy to practice elsewhere at the coaches discretion.
The registration fee is $300 for the fall and spring season combined. There are additional costs incurred by the team such as tournament registrations, travel related costs such hotels, meals. Uniforms are also required and purchased by each member of the team as a seperate cost.
