Two '91 Girls Commit to Div 1 Schools

NWA Lightning '91 Girls Goalie Meghan Huggins has decided to play NCAA division 1 college soccer while attending Lamar University at Lamar University, in Beaumont Texas.

The 5'11" goalie has received a lot of attention from a number of division I universities and has finally committed to Lamar.

"Meghan has received a lot of attention from Big 12 and schools from all over. With her size and athleticism Lamar University is getting one heck of potential player," Lightning coach Jakob Nilsson said.

Last year Huggins played her first season with NWA Lightning Soccer Club '91 Girls team and was the starting goalie on the state championship team. She was also selected to the Arkansas 7A High School All State Team, and represented Arkansas on the '91 Olympic Development team.

"Elizabeth is one of the absolute top players in the state at her age group. She is well rounded and has all it will take to perform at the NCAA Division 1 level. Congratulations to UCA for a great catch as Liz will be an asset to their growing program," Coach Jakob Nilsson said.
